Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. My computer is acting very strange. When I go into the control panel, I have two headsets show up. If I try to set this as the default, I can not hear anything else while the zoom meeting is running, the test tone will not play, and the volume mixer simply will not work.

If I set this as the default device, however, all my problems are solved except that the audio quality is very poor and there is always static in the background.

I don’t think there is any solution to this, just wanted to let you know in case my headphones are bad or this is not supposed to happen. Edit: the «stereo» headphones bring up the quality significantly and the volume mixer works with it but only when I’m not in a zoom meeting.

Could you explain how you changed the audio input device to the same as system for both microphone and speakers? I had the same problem. I solved this by changing the audio input device to same as system, both microphone and speakers. Hi Bhavesh,. I had the same problem I tried to solve this using Bhavesh’s method it did not work I still don’t know how to solve this. I tried many ways like messing with audio settings but still it did not work.

This does not mean that I cannot hear other participants in the meeting, just that if there is another app with audio playing at the same time, I cannot hear it.

I don’t know anyone else with this problem and can’t find any help on this issue on the Zoom help website. I use a Bluetooth headset, and all my drivers are up to date. I can hear sounds from other apps only when I am not in a meeting. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. Whatever the case, sometimes you want to share music during a Zoom call without sharing your screen. You could just play something and hope your microphone picks it up, but that’s going to be low quality. Instead, you can share full quality music over Zoom, without sharing your screen, thanks to a hidden setting. Here’s how to find it and some tips for using it.

Go to share your screen, as normal, then click the Advanced tab at the top of the window. You’ll now see the Music or Computer Sound Only button. Click this, and Zoom will share whatever audio your computer is playing. Everyone on the call will hear your music without seeing your screen.

This is perfect if you need a particular playlist for your online workout class. It’s also great if you just want to set the proper tone for your Zoom hangout session, or even a meeting. This is straightforward enough, but there are some potential complications.

Here are a few tips to make sure your musical meeting goes well:. Do a trial run first. If you’ve never shared audio, you’ll need to install a special audio driver. Consider trying it out in a test session before using it for real because you don’t want to be dealing with drivers during a call. It only takes a minute or two, but it’ll be awkward.

Check volume levels. Sometimes people will have trouble hearing the music or hearing each other over the music. It’s hard to tell this is happening, as the host, so be intentional about it: ask someone else on the call if they can hear both you and the music. You can adjust the volume in your music app or using your system volume until things are just right. Consider using headphones.

Your microphone can pick up on the music you’re playing. Zoom is pretty good about filtering it out, but occasionally people might hear a weird echo. The simplest way to prevent this is by wearing headphones. Done with the music? You can stop sharing your computer’s audio by clicking the red Stop Share button at the top of your Zoom window.
